All Day for Jesus

Our church had an all day Saturday outreach
for the upcoming revival this week with a guest evangelist.

Our church met in the morning and afternoon to hand out flyers and invite
people out to a free, live concert with free refreshments that evening.
We had a great time hanging out together while passing out flyers, going to lunch together at In-n-Out, rocking out to the awesome music at night, and hearing the powerful testimonies of how God has changed people's lives!

I'm guessing, over thirty people came from other churches across the
Utah valley (a few as far as Logan-2 hours away), came to help us invite people
to our special revival services this week. We were so blessed that they
took time out of their schedules to come partner with our
church. It really encouraged us!

While we were on the afternoon outreach, Marcus was scootering from
house to house handing out flyers. There were kids in the neighborhood
and he approached one of the young boys. Right there in a driveway,
Marcus started talking to him.
He shared how he was a child of God and asked the boy if he
wanted to be, as well. He said, "YES!"
Right then, Marcus prayed with a boy to receive Jesus! He was so happy!
He said, "I can't believe I prayed with someone to receive Jesus.
That's the best thing I've ever done."

It was all day for Jesus and it was very fruitful.  A total of eighteen people
prayed to receive Jesus on the outreach and at the concert!

We cannot wait for revival that starts this Wednesday night!!!

Visit to the Children's Museum

Today we went to one of our favorite places...the Children's Museum! Our homeschool group organized a field trip, so we took the opportunity to go have some fun. The kids had a blast...as always!

Working in the construction zone

Driving cars

 Climbing the rock wall

Working at the local grocery store

 Playing in the water

Checking on the mouse house
inside the playhouse

Going inside the "real" helicopter

that makes noises like it's going to take off
Creating something new

 Having a great time together!

SLC Bike Tour 2012

The ride was amazing! I did my first bike tour cycling ride and loved it. I woke up every hour of the night before it. I can't sleep before a race/ride-I'm way too nervous. I got up at 4:30am to get ready. But, I did try to do as much as possible the night before in terms of setting things out. It definitely helped. I got picked up at 4:50am and headed to meet the rest of our group. Drove over to the starting point of the race, nerves racking my body. Looked like so many cyclists to me! I was most nervous about the beginning of the ride because with so many people that's when collisions can occur. A few people almost swerved into me, but didn't! Pretty sure we finished the 26 mile course in one hour and twenty five minutes. Felt pretty good about that! Then, we all went to IHOP for breakfast to celebrate. Really fun morning.

Me and My Fan Club

I want to say a special thank you to Josh, for always encouraging me so much in my fitness endeavors. And, for getting all the kids ready, taking them (the kids and Zack) to get coffee and hot chocolate, and get downtown to cheer me on as I finished the race.
You are the BEST!

Updates

Praise the Lord Rob got his splint off yesterday!!! BUT, no jumping, skipping, hopping, running, riding scooters or bikes and DEFINITELY NO TRAMPOLINES for a long time!

I picked up my packet for the Salt Lake City Bike Tour tomorrow morning! My first Bike Tour! TRI for 5 (Triathlon team) unites again for the bike tour. Pray for us. Ride begins at 6am sharp. Details to follow on the ride tomorrow :)

Allie had a great horseback riding lesson today. She walked the horse, Mazzi, all by herself in the arena, guiding and turning the horse. And THEN she trotted! She LOVED it and said she could do that everyday! Her teacher said that she has great balance. Rob, Marcus and I all were so nervous watching her on the horse. But, she was so brave and confident. Josh was proudly videoing her with his phone the entire time.

Then, right after horseback lessons, Josh and Rob took Marcus to his baseball game. His team won 9-0!
By the way, Marcus picked his baseball number, #11, because that was his Daddy's number when he played baseball. Josh later told me that he picked that number because it was HIS dad's! The legacy continues!

While they were at practice, Markell and Brandie surprised me and delivered to my door my FAVORITE sushi!!! SO YUMMY! A Sunshine roll and a new favorite, coco cabana! I was totally blessed :)

Time for bed...4:30am comes quick.

Let the Games Begin

Marcus had his first game of the season yesterday against the Yankees. FYI...this is the spot where you can find Marcus when his team is up to bat and they're in the dugout. He watches the game intensely, encouraging his teammates, eating sunflower seeds, and spitting out the shells. His mouth is full of them here!

Marcus really knows how to begin his baseball season...his very first hit was a HOME RUN!!  Then, his second hit was a triple! I think he's going to have a pretty good season this year. Go Cubs!

Marcus' Faithful Fans...
All on his own, Rob started a loud cheer for Marcus when he was up to bat, spelling his name out to
a tune "M-A-R-C-U-S"(sorry kind of hard to reproduce)

My Love Note

This is what I walked downstairs to find on the kitchen counter today!

Marcus, you are an amazing boy. I'm so thankful you are my son, and that God allowed me the privilege of being your mommy. You bless me more than you know.  You saw my needs today and met them. Thanks for loving me.
You are terrific and I am so proud of you.
I love you bunches, Mom

Favorite Picture of the week

Rob got down on the bark chips to push his sister on the swing. How sweet is that!
By the way, there's no sand at the parks where we live. Rob's splint was covered in bark chips when he got up.

Rob talks to cops

I took the three kiddos to In-n-Out for dinner last night, and they got in a frenzy when we walked inside and saw two cops sitting at a table. Allie was running back and forth from the counter to the area close by where they were, too afraid to say "hi." Very shocking that she was speechless! Since Marcus and Allie weren't going to talk to them, he decided to go. He hobbled over to their table on his crutches and began a conversation. It was my turn to order at the counter and couldn't hear what was being said (always a dangerous position to be in when your child is talking to a cop). As soon as I could, I asked Rob what he said and he told me,
"I said hi and that I wanted to be a cop someday. But, I told them that we're Christians, and so I want to see if it's what my God wants  me to do. And then I asked about their tasers."

An Inspiring Video

Josh came home from work the other day and showed me this you tube video his personal training client told him about.
It is incredibly inspiring.

Clear here to watch it...and tell us what you think about it in the comments below.

Who Says?

Who says you can't have fun at the park with your family wearing a huge splint on your leg?

Rob had a hard time opening his blue eyes for a picture. They are so sensitive to the sun, but he's trying for me!

The Terrific Trio!

We couldn't pass up the opportunity to enjoy a beautiful Utah day at the park. Rob pretty much spent the whole time on the swings (no big surprise). Marcus ran around playing tag. And, Allie just wanted Daddy to push her on the swings and watch her play on everything.

The Favorite Game

It's not uncommon for me to walk into one of the kids' rooms at bedtime and be asked,
"Can we play the favorite game?"
And depending on the night and circumstances I may tell them,
"Sure, let's play the favorite game. You start."
How do you play the favorite game?
It's easy. You take turns asking each other questions that begin with "What's your favorite..." and you make up the rest of the question...can be anything you want to know! Here are some of the questions that were asked when Allie and I
played the game last night...
  • What's your favorite honey?
  • What's your favorite dress?
  • What's your favorite house?
  • What's your favorite baby(doll)?
  • What's your favorite wallet?
I know what you are thinking...um, they don't all really make sense. But, do they have to? I kind of like to see the random questions they are going to ask me. My kids love to play this game and so do I. I get to know what they love, what's special to them, and what are some of their favorite things. It makes bedtime extra special and meaningful for all of us!

Where did this game come from? We have my mom, Grandma Debbie, to thank for this one! She created the game and has been playing it with them since the kids were really little. Every time grandma comes for a visit they always play the favorite game!

Happy Resurrection Day!

We had a wonderful Easter Sunday celebrating
the Resurrection of Jesus!

The newlyweds...Markell and his bride, Brandie

We were happy Markell's mom, Laura and his sister, Paisley
joined us for the afternoon.

Big brothers Zack and Markell hanging out

Josh and his baby Allie, she always wants to
sit on her Daddy's lap!

Waiting for our annual Easter Egg Hunt in the backyard to begin.

Meanwhile, Zack couldn't wait for dessert, so he found a snack in the backyard...just kidding and
he didn't eat it- that would gross me out way too much!

Markell and his sweet baking skills...he made the most amazing strawberry cake for dessert!

"Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!" ~Psalm 133:1
