The Celebrating Continues

This weekend Josh turned another year older...
Happy Birthday, Josh!

And to add to the celebration...Markell and Brandie
gave Josh a card that said, "Happy Birthday, Grandpa!"
... They found out a few hours before Josh's birthday
dinner that they are expecting their first baby in May!!!
We are SO excited!

Easter in September

The funniest thing happened today. This afternoon the kids were in the backyard playing and Rob rushed inside yelling my name. He was so excited to show me what he found. It was a plastic, orange Easter egg he found in the backyard and inside of it was a one dollar bill! That is a HUGE deal for a 7 year old!
Allie is proudly taking credit for hiding that egg
outside in a toy truck.
I guess she did a good job!

Don't you love these kinds of surprises!

Celebrating My Birthday

Yesterday was my birthday and a great day it was :)

Marcus made me breakfast in bed all by himself.
I went to church in the morning and was surprised with
a brand new road bike from Josh and our church!!!
I couldn't believe it.
I'm so thrilled...I had to go for a short ride after
lunch before evening service.
I LOVE my new bike!

I'm so thankful for all that God has done in my life.
I am truly blessed!

Our State Capitol Field Trip

On Thursday we took a field trip to the State of Utah Capitol Building.
We took some pictures outside, and then went on an hour tour
of the Capitol. It was fascinating. The kids and I have never been
on a State Capitol tour before.
We are so grateful we went. I loved that my kids listened to the docent talking to us. Marcus remembered it was 160 feet high to the top of the rotunda, as we stood inside looking up into it.
Interesting fact...our Capitol Building does not require anyone to go through a metal detector or search upon entering! Instead, they have 300 tiny eye holes with cameras watching everyone's move. They want people to feel welcome coming into
their Capitol Building.
Another interesting fact, women were legally allowed to
vote in Utah in 1870...
50 years before the rest of the women in America!

Inside the Gold Room...literally!

If the U.S. President comes to Utah this is his reception area...not too shabby

Marcus' 2nd TRI

Today Marcus completed his 2nd Triathlon!

Because he just turned eleven he moved up into the next competing age group-which meant that he had to do twice the distance than he did last time. Funny, how both Marcus and I doubled our distances with our second triathlons.

He did fantastic! He said the bike was the hardest this time as there were more hills for him to conquer.

 Marcus Swam 200 yards
        Biked 6 miles
         Ran 1.2 miles

Way to go, Marcus!
You are an incredible athlete!
