Lovely

I'm so excited about my new, lovely flowers for my flower pots in the front and back yard. Josh and I had fun picking them out together this weekend. He does such a great job landscaping that I can't pick out anything without his help.

Day at the Lake

We were blessed with the opportunity to meet up with friends at Pineview Lake on Thursday. They have jet skis, a tubing raft that can be pulled behind a jet ski, and a kid's kayak. We had a lot of fun fellowshipping and enjoying the beautiful day on the lake.

We finished up the day with a bbq, a campfire with s'mores, and a game of volleyball.
I asked Rob what his favorite part of the day was and he said,
"Riding the motorcycles on the lake!"

Morning Prayer

As I mentioned, the kids got new notebooks this week for their prayer & Bible time!

Last year I started a new thing with the kids for their morning prayer time. I found these cute little composition books for them to use as their prayer journals. They write down the date, what they read, what they are thankful for, what they want to pray for, and what God said to them. I think the notebooks have really helped the kids be focused in their quiet time with God. When we started these notebooks last year, Allie wasn't able to write a lot, so she drew pictures in each category. Now she does a great job writing everything out-with a little help from Mommy with her spelling :)

In the last week...

Allie had her first official tennis lesson. She loved it. We went to play the other day-just her and I. That in itself was so special for me to be able to share something with her that I am enjoy so much myself. It's only the beginning. She told me on the way to the courts that she was going to grow up and be a professional tennis player. So cute.

The boys have been going to the local swimming pool a lot lately it seems. Marcus has been mastering the art of his back flip. He even did it off of the high concrete platforms! It was only 25 feet in the air...

Marcus went to YOUTH at our church for the first time this Friday. It was a sentimental moment for me realizing how fast my son is growing up.

On Sunday afternoon the boys put on their football gear to practice with their friends across the street. It started to rain and they brought their equipment in, but went right back outside to continue playing football. I loved watching them play from our front room window. And I love the summer rain storms.

Our church has been having revival this week with a great pastor and friend. It has been a real blessing for our church.

I bought the kids new notebooks for their prayer and Bible time.

I've been reading a lot lately. I absolutely love to read.

I had a "de-clutter the house" project for a few days. I love to get rid of stuff we don't need or use. I realized after living out of a suitcase for two weeks when I went to California that we have too much stuff. Less is better.

I'm looking forward to another month of summer before school starts. More projects to conquer, more fun to be had!

Daddy Daughter Date

Last Thursday Josh took Allie on a Daddy daughter date.

They went to their usual place for lunch--Kneaders.

While they were there for lunch Josh gave Allie a gift...a special necklace.

She absolutely loves it.

Seventeen!

On Saturday, Josh and I celebrated our 17th wedding anniversary! 

We feel so blessed. It amazes us that we've been married so long...we still feel young and in love ;) I was 17 years old when Josh proposed to me! It's kind of crazy to think that now our married years in Utah outnumber the ones in California. We have grown so much and are excited for all that God has in store for us and our family. We thank God for all that He's done in our marriage and lives. God gets all the glory!

June Lake Scribner Reunion

Last week we went to June Lake for the BIG Scribner Family Reunion. 

There were 52 people there (almost everyone)! 

It was a special and memorable week.

On the first day we had at June Lake we went on a hike to some beautiful lakes. Unfortunately, there were TONS of mosquitos. I got at least 8 bites on my left shoulder!

The next day, after Josh went fishing early in the morning, we played tennis for almost 3 hours with some family from Louisiana and Zach Scribner, George and Beth. While we were doing that, Grandma Jenn took Allie and some other grandkids on a horseback ride. Allie had so much fun. She loves horses.

That night we all went out to eat at an outdoor restaurant with live music. Nate got creative and made this flower crown for Allie and the other girls.

The last day was devoted to fishing! Our family had one boat.

We met up with other family out on the lake. It was fun to be together and see each other catching fish. Uncle Nate caught a 4 pound fish...the biggest fish caught all week!

Allie caught the first fish of the day. She actually caught the most in our family during that outing!

 It's the rule...you have to kiss the fish you catch!!! I don't follow that rule :)

 Marcus had a hard time kissing his fish at first, then when he caught another one, it was no problem!

It was a wonderful time just being all together...just not enough time with everyone though. 

We have such a wonderful family!

Glad we were together to keep each other company ;)
