From my Garden

Check this out!! Marcus came inside the house hollering for me to "Come See!"  I ran into the living room and couldn't believe the zucchini he brought inside from OUR garden...and it was so huge! I am still in shock. Something actually came from my little attempt at a garden.
To my joy a few other things are growing too...

Summertime

Summertime = More Playmobil Playing Time

No school work to worry about...so get out the Playmobil! I have shared before that all three kids like to pull out A LOT of the Playmobil and set up their "guys". This is their favorite imaginative play activity. It makes me so happy that it's something all three kids can enjoy playing together. It has especially blessed me to see Marcus who is five years older than Allie, brother and sister, having fun playing Playmobil together. I treasure this time of their lives and relationships. They will all get older and probably gain different interests or hobbies (or one day get jobs-ha). They won't always be pulling out the Playmobil to set up and play. So, I focus on enjoying today and the time I get to watch them play.
 I'm thankful for summertime.
I'm thankful for my kids who have a good time together.
I'm thankful for my camera that captured this moment.

A Peek Into One of Our Bathrooms

I have to say that when Josh and I were looking to buy our house six and a half years ago, I loved this bathroom. It's our upstairs bathroom for the kids. I loved the color of it. We repainted it since living here, but I insisted that it had to be the same as before.

This step stool is the BEST thing ever for this bathroom.
With my kids using it all the time, it sure helps keep it clean
(the sink, counters and their hands!).

I actually took this idea of the vase with fake flowers from a
Restoration Hardware store window when I was at an outdoor mall
in Los Angeles. I felt pretty confident that with a simple trip to
Walmart I could make one myself and that it
would look perfect in this bathroom.

I think I have put vinyl lettering in almost every room in my house.
I love it!
It is such an inexpensive way to decorate (and you know me...
I always have to be reading something!)

Who would think a bathroom would be a room with a view? Unfortunately, from all the haze and fires lately, the amazing view cannot be seen today. Just trust me, it's there above the tree line. This bathroom window gives a view of the beautiful Utah valley.

Red, White and Blue

Marcus was filming a movie with his friends (one of their
favorite things to do together) while we went
to an outreach for our baby pioneer church.
Later on our church met up in the evening for
food, fun, fireworks and church in the park.
Hope you had a wonderful fourth of July!

Oh Deer!

I pulled out of our church parking lot last night after church and right
there on the side of the road were two beautiful deer. I couldn't believe
my eyes! They just stood there and kept eating the shrubbery, not
even bothered that I was parked right next to them. Marcus and Allie
were pretty excited about the deer...hanging out the back window,
trying to get the closest look possible.  Allie was begging me to let
her get out and pet them. I told her "no" and her little animal-loving
heart was saddened.

We actually saw five deer as we drove in a nearby neighborhood
after outreach a week ago. How exciting is that!

It brings to my mind the verse in Psalm 42:1-2
"As the deer pants for the water brooks, so pants my soul for
You, O God. My soul thirsts for God,
for the living God..."
