Daily Bible Study

For the last month Josh has been leading our family in Bible Study. Every day (mostly Mon.-Fri.) we get together in the living room (or we've done it on the floor of the boys' room before bed, too). Josh asks one of the kids to open us in prayer. Then he asks the kids if they have a question from their day and then he has the kids look up different Bible verses to help us answer the question. Allie is usually begging non stop to be chosen to look up and read a scripture.
Some of the questions have been:
Why does God love us?
Why aren't we always happy?
Why did God choose to put us on earth?
Why are some people mean?
Why do we do bad things when we don't want to?
Each of the kids will get a different verse to read. Josh will ask questions as we go along and we'll close in prayer. Josh is really good at keeping it short and simple.
The kids really enjoy doing our family Bible study. When we started Allie didn't have a Bible that she could look up verses, it was more of a picture Bible. She was really wanting one so she could participate in looking up the Bible verses and reading them aloud with the boys. She got one and absolutely loves it! It blesses us to see her so excited about her Bible. I even found her sitting on her bedroom floor & leaning against a wall reading it one day. She had just read something that we had talked about in one of our Bible studies from the day before. So cool.
I'm so thankful that Josh is leading us in Bible study. He said that one day at prayer God told him to do it. It has been a wonderful thing for our family.

Field Trip to the Farm

Today I went with Allie's first grade class to Wheeler Farm.
The kids loved looking at the animals, running around and going on the tractor led wagon ride.

Trying to get a better look at the horse, of course!

One of her favorite things today was that she pet a goat!

She had to go back to see the horses again :)

I love my sweet Allie!
She made her rubber band bracelet to match her outfit today. Too cute!

Grand Finale For Flag Football

Yesterday the boys finished their first season of flag football together. They've had a great time playing and it's been so fun watching them play together. Yesterday, their team played so well. They scored a bunch of touchdowns. Rob's teacher told Rob she was going to come to the game, so he was praying that Marcus could pass to him and he get a touchdown for her (and his friend Nathan because it's his birthday Friday). It was down to the last few seconds/last play of the game. Their team just scored a touchdown and we're going for the two extra points. Rob ran into a great position in the back of the end zone; Marcus threw a perfect pass to him, and Rob caught it for the 2 points. Game over. Victory and jumping and shouting. Rob was so happy! And so was Marcus. He was actually getting upset during the game that the coach wasn't calling for a pass play to Rob. He wanted to make that happen for Rob. Thankfully, he did and it was an incredible grand finale to their season.  Way to go boys!

Everyday Joy

There are so many little things that can be pass by my attention every day. There are little things that the kids set up around the house or their rooms, that are unique to them at this time in their lives. I've been realizing how quickly the kids are growing up and I am reminded that these little creations or seeming messes will not always be around. I started taking more pictures lately of these little things because I want to capture these moments. These are not just the little things that they do or create, but little glimpses of what brings me joy and a fresh perspective on life and living every moment to the fullest.
