No More Football This Year

Football season ended in November. It's always bitter sweet.
Football takes up ALL of our time, yet it is so much fun watching the boys play.
I wouldn't trade it for the world.
I love going to their Saturday games, hanging out on the sidelines, pacing up and down the field, and cheering them on.

They both had team parties this year.
Rob's was at Classic Skate and Marcus' was at Boondocks.
The boys were really blessed and had a fun time.

Until next season...

Dinner Talk

One of the most important things in our family is dinner time. It's important not only because we sit down at our table and eat together, but that's when we have some of our most significant dinner conversations.

We recently got a new book for us to use after dinner for our "Little Visits" time called Sticky Situations. I really love this book. It has a devotion to go through every day of the year. Each day the devotion presents a story of a tough situation a kid is going through and then gives multiple choice answers for our family to choose which one would be the best solution for that situation. I love it because this week we got into a really powerful discussion on the influence of friends in our lives. Marcus voluntarily shared an incident that happened to him at school that happened to parallel the situation in the devotion that night. Josh was able to share some stories that the kids hadn't heard yet regarding the influence friends have in our lives-for good or bad. I'm so thankful for the talk we had. I pray that our discussion will forever be imbedded on their hearts.
Josh and I strongly desire to prepare our kids for life situations when they are outside of our home (currently-at school or activities) and for when they grow up and leave home. This book has been a great conversation starter and I highly recommend it.

We have a lot of fun doing Bible trivia and reading about others who lived for God. Here are some of our family favorites...

Our Cat Cody

This is the most well-loved, babied cat that I have ever known of.
Needless to say, Allie takes really good care of our cat, Cody.
I went to Costco and brought home this box filled with groceries. Allie immediately asked if she could have the box. (I don't know what it is with kids and boxes...mine want to keep and transform every box that comes into our house).
So, I said, "Yes" and Cody got a new, fancy bed that day...with a pillow and all!
No wonder his favorite place to sleep is on Allie's bed.
