Finishing Up September

As time has been flying by, I haven't posted about the happenings of our family. So, to catch you up on the rest of our September, here are some updates:

*In the middle of September we went to Park City for 3 days (our family and Zack) to get away and have some fun family time. It was a blessing. It's so beautiful up there. The kids went swimming a lot of the time. Allie's hair still smelled like chlorine after we got home. Josh was able to study and I was able to read books.
And of course, we ate out, shopped and a took a trip to the local farmer's market.

* Allie busts out into song at any given time, making up words to a song and singing what she wants to say...could be in the car as we are driving, sitting at the kitchen table, or standing on our coffee table in the living room-singing about obeying her parents (I love that song!) or her brothers or whatever she wants ... I feel like I'm living in a musical :)

*Rob loves school. We are doing an online home school program this year and he's enjoying the interactive videos and assignments. He's such a great student. Today, he just finished a unit test in math and got an A. So proud of him!

* Marcus dresses like his big brother Danny now for every church service.

*Allie loves doing arts and crafts. She spends her free time creating pictures, taping stuff together, cutting and gluing.

 * Rob also played golf with Josh one afternoon. They played nine holes on a regular course and walked the whole way. Rob loved it. He had the most AMAZING shot on a hole. He hit the ball, it went through the railing of a bridge, bounced on the paved cart path, landed 3 feet from the hole, he putted it in...and got a birdie! He made it in in 2 shots!! So incredible...wish I could have been there to see it!

*Marcus started his co-op class on Ancient Greece and Rome. He's always been very interested in the history of these cultures and I am so happy he's able to participate in it. It's a small class setting (10 students) for one hour a week. He made the coolest map of Greece on the first day.

*Our church had a baptism service during a Sunday evening service.

*I hosted a farewell dinner at our home for Jessie, our church secretary and my triathlon buddy, as her family moved to New Mexico this past weekend :(

*Josh drove to CA with two men in our church for a golf tournament. Drove there Friday, played Saturday, and drove home Sunday (with a special treat of preaching for his sister and brother in law's church on the way home :)

The Celebrating Continues

This weekend Josh turned another year older...
Happy Birthday, Josh!

And to add to the celebration...Markell and Brandie
gave Josh a card that said, "Happy Birthday, Grandpa!"
... They found out a few hours before Josh's birthday
dinner that they are expecting their first baby in May!!!
We are SO excited!

Easter in September

The funniest thing happened today. This afternoon the kids were in the backyard playing and Rob rushed inside yelling my name. He was so excited to show me what he found. It was a plastic, orange Easter egg he found in the backyard and inside of it was a one dollar bill! That is a HUGE deal for a 7 year old!
Allie is proudly taking credit for hiding that egg
outside in a toy truck.
I guess she did a good job!

Don't you love these kinds of surprises!

Celebrating My Birthday

Yesterday was my birthday and a great day it was :)

Marcus made me breakfast in bed all by himself.
I went to church in the morning and was surprised with
a brand new road bike from Josh and our church!!!
I couldn't believe it.
I'm so thrilled...I had to go for a short ride after
lunch before evening service.
I LOVE my new bike!

The delicious cake Josh baked for me

Me and My Kids :)

THE MOST INCREDIBLE HUSBAND IN THE WORLD!!!

I'm so thankful for all that God has done in my life.
I am truly blessed!
